Each live role is classified from its title into a role family (the same classifier the job board uses). Titles no pattern matches are grouped as “other analyst titles” rather than forced into a family.

What this report does not claim
Some numbers people expect from a market report are not ones this dataset can honestly produce. Rather than estimate them, we list them.
- Hybrid vs on-site split
- Work mode is only recorded on employer-posted roles; scraped listings carry a free-text location. We report the remote share (detectable from the location) and nothing else.
- Hiring trends over time
- The feed keeps only live roles — closed listings are removed, not archived — so there is no history to chart yet. We record each role's first-seen date and will publish trends once a comparable history exists.
- Salary benchmarks
- Most listings state no pay, and the ones that do use mixed currencies and periods. We report how many roles disclose a range, not an average that a handful of postings would distort.
Methodology & definitions
- Source
- Roles are read directly from companies' own careers pages and applicant-tracking systems (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and others), plus roles employers post here directly. No third-party job boards are scraped, so listings are not duplicated across aggregators.
- Update frequency
- The feed is rebuilt every night; roles that have come down at the source are removed. Figures on this page refresh within an hour of a rebuild.
- Period
- All counts describe the roles live on the report date (2026-09-13). This is a snapshot, not a time series — closed roles are not retained, which is why trends are not reported yet.
- Sample size
- 2,783 live roles. Skill shares use the 2,408 roles with an extracted tech stack; country shares use all roles, with 584 unplaced roles disclosed separately.
- De-duplication
- One row per application link. The same role listed twice at its source is counted once.
- Role families
- Classified from the job title by pattern (e.g. “Senior Data Analyst II” → Data Analyst). The most specific pattern wins; unmatched titles are “other”.
- Skills
- Extracted from the posting text at scrape time and matched to the eight skills that have a page on this site, using whole-token matching (so “R” never matches a letter inside another word).
- Country and city
- Country is resolved from the location text with word-anchored matching (India is decided before any US state code). City is a match against GeoNames cities of 200k+ population; nothing is geocoded by guess.
- Remote
- A role whose location says remote (or work-from-home) or whose employer set the work mode to remote.
- Salary disclosure
- A role counts as disclosing pay only when the posting states an unambiguous two-ended range with a currency. Single figures, “competitive” and ranges without a currency do not count.
The classification code is the same code the job board runs, and its rules are asserted by automated checks before every deploy. If you find a figure that looks wrong, the listings it was computed from are all public.
