Accountabilities • • Quantify embodied carbon and other environmental impacts associated with new development and tenant improvement projects, from individual buildings through global portfolios. • Perform whole-building Life Cycle Assessments (wbLCA) and identify opportunities to reduce life-cycle impacts through improved design, materials, construction practices, and operational strategies. • Review wbLCA calculations and results prepared by other team members, identify errors or inconsistencies, and help ensure accurate final outputs. • Collect, organize, track, and analyze environmental data related to energy use, waste, construction materials, transportation, and other relevant impact categories. • Develop reports, presentations, visualizations, and recommendations that clearly communicate environmental performance and improvement opportunities. • Manage assigned work independently, maintaining agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and project outcomes. • Participate in client communications, including project kickoffs, data requests, and presentations of final results. • Support project managers with research into sustainable design approaches, low-carbon products, construction methods, operational strategies, technologies, and emerging best practices. • Monitor developments in LCA methodologies, sustainability standards, industry practices, policies, and regulations through workshops, webinars, and ongoing professional development. • Collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams while contributing to a culture focused on innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and positive environmental impact. Requirements • Passion for sustainability, climate action, decarbonization, and creating measurable environmental impact. • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, structural engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. • At least one year of full-time, hands-on experience applying LCA methodologies within the real estate or built-environment sector. • Intermediate proficiency with OneClick LCA and some experience with additional embodied carbon tools such as EC3 and/or TallyCAT. • Intermediate proficiency with Autodesk Revit and BIM 360 for material takeoffs. • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyze, organize, and interpret large datasets, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and curiosity, with an ability to investigate complex datasets, classify results, and identify trends. • Experience developing embodied carbon calculations that include Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) equipment is preferred. • Experience documenting LCA work for LEED, ILFI, CAGBC Zero Carbon Building, or similar certification pursuits is preferred. • LEED Accredited Professional certification is preferred. • Experience developing whole-building LCA for data centers is preferred. • Working knowledge of corporate greenhouse gas accounting and target-setting frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, SBTi, and WGBC Net Zero, as well as carbon offsets, is preferred. • Previous consulting experience within an established organization, with exposure to team-based delivery, internal quality standards, and cross-project collaboration, is preferred. • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and client-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain technical sustainability concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
