Job Description Purpose of the role To extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, developing robust decision models, and presenting actionable recommendations to stakeholders across the departments. Accountabilities • Identification and extraction of relevant data from various internal and external sources. • Performing sensitivity analysis and scenario planning. • Monitoring and evaluation of the performance of existing models. • Development and implementation of data quality control procedures. • Building and validation of quantitative models to support decision-making across different business areas. As a Commercial Analytics Manager within the Data & Analytics team, you’ll play a key role in shaping Barclaycard Payments’ commercial strategy. You’ll design and combine effective data-driven insight and models with strong commercial acumen to support decision-making that drives growth, profitability, customer acquisition, retention, and overall business performance. Working closely with stakeholders across Product, Finance, Sales, Commercial, and Analytics teams, you’ll help develop and refine strategies that ensure the business remains competitive in a dynamic payments market. You’ll be responsible for the creation, development, and maintenance of commercial performance models and reporting frameworks, using deep analysis of customer behaviour, transaction trends, sales performance, market dynamics, and competitor activity to generate actionable insights. You’ll shape and lead a team of analysts, experimenting with the latest modelling techniques and cloud capabilities, developing agent based and automated performance reviews of key commercial initiatives, campaigns, and growth programmes, monitoring outcomes and identifying opportunities for optimisation. With strong stakeholder engagement skills, you’ll also oversee governance activities relating to commercial reporting, analytics methodologies, and performance measurement, ensuring outputs are robust, well-controlled, and clearly documented.
