Recruiter contact information: If you have any questions, please contact Angelica Martinez at Angelica.Martinez2@tucsonaz.gov Position Specific Summary The Data Analyst II at the City of Tucson’s Water Department is responsible for the gathering, analysis, and management of the utility’s GIS data. This position is also responsible for the QAQC of GIS editors’ work. The Data Analyst II is also empowered to use data in their decision-making process through innovative applications or dashboards, relevant data representation, and through development of new services / products / solutions for users. Work is performed under the supervision of the Management Coordinator. The Data Analyst II does not supervise. Essential duties include but are not limited to: • Performs geospatial analyses to enhance business operations of field technicians, maintenance crews, new area development, and planning and engineering • Maintains and creates relational databases and data systems and performs work in a production environment with branch versioning across the utility's network map • Provides quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) oversight to GIS editors' work and contributes to increased data quality that may include automation or other procedural changes • Employs extract-transform-load tools to mine or combine large or disparate datasets • Collaborates with cross-functional teams on spatial data projects and collaborates with City IT analysts to manage data stores and ensure data quality • Informs departmental operations and decision-making, by implementing statistical methods to identify patterns and relationships in data • Publishes data to the City’s data portal for external use according to signed non-disclosure agreements and creates data visualizations and reports to present to audiences of varying technical backgrounds • Develops and reviews standard operating procedures for periodic tasks and assists in special projects to build and support applications and maps for the Director's office Working Conditions Mostly office environment All duties and responsibilities listed are subject to change.
