Job Description:
Job Description
This role provides senior-level business analysis and delivery leadership within the Enterprise Data Management Office (EDMO), supporting enterprise metadata, data governance, data quality, lineage, cataloguing, and data-management capabilities.
The role partners with product, business, engineering, architecture, data governance, risk, control, and platform teams to translate strategic priorities into clearly defined outcomes, requirements, delivery plans, and measurable business value.
Acting with a high degree of independence, the Senior Business Analyst manages the JIRA delivery board, drives executive-level reporting, applies a product mindset to backlog and roadmap decisions, and leads stakeholder alignment across complex initiatives.
Technical exposure is essential. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with solution teams on data flows, metadata models, APIs, integrations, cloud and data-platform concepts, security, controls, and production support, while communicating technical topics through a clear business lens.
This role will report to an Engineering Manager, Product Group Technology Lead, or equivalent leader within EDMO.
EXPERIENCE
• Leverage specialized business, product, data, and systems knowledge to understand EDMO priorities and drive delivery toward measurable business value.
• Demonstrated experience managing JIRA boards, including backlog structure, workflow hygiene, story readiness, sprint tracking, dependency visibility, dashboards, and delivery reporting.
• Experience preparing concise executive updates that clearly communicate progress, outcomes, milestones, decisions, risks, dependencies, and required leadership support.
• Strong product mindset, with experience contributing to product outcomes, roadmaps, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization decisions.
• Advanced stakeholder-management experience across business, product, engineering, architecture, governance, risk, control, and vendor teams.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments such as Scrum or Kanban, using JIRA and Confluence.
• Technical exposure to data platforms and integration patterns, including SQL, APIs, batch and event-driven processing, cloud services, databases, data modelling, metadata, lineage, and data-quality concepts.
• Experience working with medium-to-complex technology or data workstreams involving multiple teams, competing priorities, and cross-pod dependencies.
CUSTOMER
• Partner with EDMO stakeholders, Product Owners, Data Owners, Data Stewards, engineering teams, architects, governance teams, and control partners to understand objectives, pain points, scope, priorities, and expected outcomes.
• Own effective JIRA board management by maintaining a transparent, prioritized, and delivery-ready backlog; ensuring epics, stories, tasks, defects, dependencies, and acceptance criteria are complete and current.
• Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, status reviews, demonstrations, retrospectives, and cross-team dependency discussions, with clear actions and accountable owners.
• Develop executive-ready updates and materials that connect delivery progress to product outcomes, highlight material risks and decisions, and avoid unnecessary technical detail.
• Apply a product mindset by defining the problem to solve, target users, value proposition, desired outcomes, success measures, minimum viable scope, and roadmap options before progressing into solution delivery.
• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, non-functional, data, integration, security, operational, and control requirements.
• Translate needs into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data flows, use cases, data mappings, decision logs, and traceability artifacts.
• Work with technical teams to assess solution impacts across metadata repositories, cataloguing and lineage platforms, APIs, databases, data pipelines, reporting, access controls, and downstream consumers.
• Lead stakeholder forums, resolve ambiguity, manage conflicting priorities, document decisions, and escalate material risks or trade-offs with clear recommendations.
• Plan and coordinate system integration testing, business acceptance testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, implementation readiness, and post-production validation.
• Provide senior-level analysis for operational intake, incidents, service requests, root-cause discussions, remediation plans, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Identify responsible opportunities to use approved AI and automation capabilities for requirements analysis, documentation, knowledge retrieval, testing, reporting, and data-quality investigation.
SHAREHOLDER
• Build trusted relationships across EDMO and partner organizations by creating transparency, following through on commitments, and tailoring communication to the audience.
• Maintain clear governance over scope, risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, decisions, milestones, and benefits, ensuring that material concerns are surface
