This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Governance - Com Inglês based in Brazil.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of critical Master Data within a sophisticated Private Credit environment. You will help ensure that high-value financial data is accurate, consistent, traceable, and available across multiple business systems. The position combines data governance, operational controls, financial markets knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration. You will partner closely with international teams and external financial institutions to investigate and resolve data discrepancies. Strong attention to detail and a control-focused mindset will be essential to maintaining reliable data and preventing silent errors. The role also provides opportunities to improve automation, reporting, data-quality processes, and operational efficiency.
Accountabilities:
•
Own the official Golden Source for Security, Fund, Counterparty, and Pricing Master Data across the Private Credit platform, ensuring accuracy, integrity, availability, and consistency.
•
Define and maintain data standards, naming conventions, mandatory attributes, validation rules, and governance practices for relevant Master Data domains.
•
Maintain corporate issuer and borrower hierarchies, including relationships between legal entities, obligors, guarantors, and ultimate parent entities.
•
Conduct research using public records, official filings, rating-agency sources, and other reliable information to validate and maintain entity structures.
•
Develop, execute, and continuously improve automated data-quality controls, exception reporting, and threshold-based alerts.
•
Maintain a “no surprises, no silent errors” approach by ensuring every exception is documented, assigned to an owner, tracked through resolution, and investigated to root cause.
•
Maintain Maker-Checker controls, audit trails, supporting evidence, and documentation required for internal and external audits, SOC controls, and regulatory reviews.
•
Act as a Brazil-based operational partner to international teams across Trade Support, Middle Office, Portfolio Finance, Valuations, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Investments.
•
Work directly with Agent Banks, Custodians, Fund Administrators, and data vendors to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
•
Escalate issues proactively and clearly, providing relevant context, risk impact, and recommended resolution paths.
•
Support continuous improvement of data governance, controls, reconciliation processes, and operational workflows.
•
Work according to New York business hours when required, including daily closing activities and periods of increased workload during month-end close.
Requirements:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
•
At least 6 years of relevant experience for Senior Analyst level in Investment Operations, Reference/Master Data Management, Middle Office, Back Office, Fund Administration, Loan Operations, or Data Governance.
•
Experience within asset managers, banks, fund administrators, financial data providers, or similar financial-services environments.
•
Practical knowledge of at least one relevant asset class, with Corporate Loans or Term Loans strongly preferred; experience with Bonds, Structured Products, Equities, or OTC Derivatives is also valuable.
•
Strong understanding of the financial instrument lifecycle, including instrument setup, corporate actions, income payments and accruals, contractual amendments, settlement, maturity, and investment exit.
•
Advanced Excel skills, including experience handling large datasets, reconciling information across multiple sources, and independently investigating discrepancies.
•
Strong data-quality, analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving capabilities.
•
Advanced English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams.
•
Availability and flexibility to work in alignment with New York hours, including daily and month-end closing periods.
•
Experience with investment and lending platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin, WSO, Geneva, SimCorp, or similar systems is desirable.
•
Familiarity with financial-market data platforms such as Bloomberg, Markit/IHS, Refinitiv Eikon/LSEG, ICE, S&P Capital IQ, PitchBook, or LSTA/LPC is a plus.
•
Knowledge of SQL for data querying and validation is advantageous.
•
Experience with Python or VBA for process automation is desirable.
•
Experience developing dashboards and management reporting with Power BI or Tableau is beneficial.
•
Familiarity with Private Credit operations, including LSTA documentation, Agent Bank notices, Credit Agreements, amendments, Unfunded Commitments, PIK accounting, CLO structures, and Trustee Reporting is highly valued.
