The Senior Risk Prevention Analyst plays a key role in protecting financial institutions from fraud and emerging risk.
This position combines advanced analytics, fraud detection technology, and operational risk management to identify and mitigate potential losses.
You will support a designated portfolio of clients while partnering closely with internal teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
The role involves developing fraud rules, custom solutions, reporting, and data-driven strategies tailored to client needs.
You will also act as a subject matter expert, translating complex analysis into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
Working in a remote-first environment, you will contribute to process improvements, cross-functional projects, and evolving fraud prevention strategies.

Accountabilities
• Coordinate Risk Analytics team activities, manage assigned projects, monitor workflows, and ensure deliverables consistently meet quality standards, turnaround times, and service-level expectations.
• Analyze fraud trends, risk exposure, and operational data to identify emerging threats, quantify potential impact, and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
• Develop and deploy fraud detection rules, custom client solutions, monitoring strategies, and other analytical approaches designed to reduce fraud losses and improve efficiency.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on fraud prevention and risk analytics, advising clients and internal stakeholders on complex issues, mitigation options, procedures, and emerging trends.
• Manage relationships with assigned financial institution clients, providing timely guidance and support through calls, email, reporting, and other communication channels.
• Resolve complex service issues and escalations while coordinating with Fraud Operations, Risk Management, Product, Retail, Finance, service centers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Gather, integrate, transform, and validate data from multiple sources; apply data hygiene techniques, exploratory data analysis, and advanced analytical methods to support business decisions.
• Create and deliver business intelligence reports, dashboards, visualizations, and executive-level materials for senior leadership, boards, examiners, and other audiences.
• Conduct root cause analyses, identify process improvement opportunities, and recommend changes that strengthen fraud prevention and operational effectiveness.
• Monitor risks within the assigned area, including information security risks, and ensure identified risks are appropriately measured, controlled, escalated, and reported.
• Maintain process documentation and clear communication across internal teams and external partners while supporting system, product, and process improvement initiatives.
• Stay current on financial services, client, and fraud trends and participate in relevant projects, industry forums, and system meetings.
• Provide support during time-sensitive fraud monitoring activities, including occasional on-call coverage, early or late hours, and weekends when required.
Requirements
• Associate’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• At least 5 years of experience within the financial services industry.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in risk analytics, fraud prevention, risk mitigation, or related fraud services.
• Experience with fraud detection and risk systems such as DefenseEdge, Falcon, Fraud Detection Work Center, and/or FDR is required.
• Knowledge of payment processing systems is preferred.
• Experience with project management is an advantage.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with experience using data to identify patterns, assess risk, and develop actionable recommendations.
• Ability to work with disparate data sources, perform exploratory analysis, evaluate data quality, and translate findings into practical business strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior leaders, clients, and less technical audiences.
• Strong relationship-management and client-service skills, including the ability to handle sensitive issues, escalations, and competing priorities professionally.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments, vendors, and client organizations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to consistently meet time-sensitive deadlines and service-level requirements.
• Willingness to provide occasional on-call support and work outside standard hours, including weekends, when required for client fraud monitoring and mitigation.
