This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Tax Compliance Analyst based in United States. This is a senior tax compliance role responsible for complex federal, state, local, and international tax reporting and regulatory requirements. You will manage high-impact tax activities across a complex healthcare and academic environment, including unrelated business income, indirect taxes, international taxation, and regulatory reporting. The role combines detailed tax research and analysis with compliance monitoring, risk assessment, audit readiness, and policy development. You will work across departments to identify tax implications, resolve compliance issues, and provide clear guidance on complex transactions and organizational initiatives. The position also plays an important role in maintaining accurate records, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring timely filings and payments. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external tax consultants, and regulatory authorities while staying current with evolving federal and state requirements. This fully remote opportunity is well suited to an analytical, detail-oriented tax professional who enjoys complex problem-solving and operating in a highly regulated environment. Accountabilities: • Prepare, reconcile, file, and administer federal, state, and local tax obligations, ensuring accurate and timely compliance with applicable laws and regulations. • Prepare and support unrelated business income tax filings, including gathering financial and operational information and coordinating with external tax consultants. • Review institutional activities for potential unrelated business income and advise on tax compliance considerations and associated risks. • Support departments with tax compliance questions related to programs, contracts, grants, sponsorships, revenue-generating activities, and other organizational initiatives. • Prepare, reconcile, and file indirect tax returns covering areas such as excise, sales, use, franchise, occupational, real property, and tangible property taxes. • Prepare and maintain business tax filings and records for subsidiaries while ensuring compliance with applicable partnership and corporate tax requirements. • Maintain annual IRS Form W-9 records and prepare, reconcile, and file Form 945 and other applicable tax reports. • Conduct periodic compliance pre-audits, risk assessments, and ongoing monitoring to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions. • Process and oversee tax payments, deposits, and refunds while ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory deadlines. • Respond to tax correspondence, audits, and notices by researching issues, gathering supporting documentation, and validating information for completeness and compliance. • Administer international tax compliance for nonresident employees, students, scholars, visitors, and foreign vendors, including tax treaty analysis and related documentation. • Maintain visa, immigration, residency, scholarship, fellowship, and grant documentation required for international tax compliance. • Prepare and file Forms 1042 and 1042-S and ensure appropriate withholding and reporting for payments to foreign nationals and foreign vendors. • Prepare, file, and maintain tax residency documentation and respond to international tax compliance inquiries. • Prepare, reconcile, and file quarterly, annual, and other regulatory reports for federal, state, and other applicable authorities. • Conduct compliance audits, gap analyses, and risk assessments while maintaining clear documentation and audit trails. • Evaluate and improve fiscal policies, procedures, guidelines, and business practices to strengthen compliance and operational effectiveness. • Support collective bargaining activities through tax and compliance research, analysis, and technical expertise related to applicable agreements and requirements. • Provide tax and audit guidance to internal stakeholders and deliver high-quality service to internal and external contacts. • Maintain current knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, legislation, organizational policies, and relevant agreements through ongoing professional development. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, tax, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • At least 5 years of experience in tax compliance and reporting involving federal and multi-state business taxes, with specific experience in unrelated business income tax within healthcare, government, higher education, or nonprofit environments. • Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and international income tax compliance requirements. • Solid understanding of accounting principles, tax reporting requirements, and internal controls. • Ability to research, interpret, and apply complex tax laws, regulations, and official guidance. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review transactions, determine appropriate tax treatment, and identify applicable reporting requirements. • Advanced proficiency with Excel and the ability to organize and analyze large volumes of data into clear, logical conclusions. • Ability to document assumptions, methodologies, and supporting analysis to create thorough and defensible audit trails. • Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills. • Ability to communicate complex technical tax information clearly to a variety of audiences. • Experience in healthcare, governmental, higher education, or nonprofit environments is preferred. • Experience with Oracle EBS and SQL is preferred. • Knowledge of information reporting requirements, including Forms 1099 and 1042, is advantageous. • Familiarity with multi-state franchise, sales, use, and excise tax reporting is preferred. • Ability to work indepe
