This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Analyst, Origination and Business Development based in Canada.
This role serves as a central analytical and reporting resource supporting origination, credit, funding, and business development activities. You will transform operational and portfolio data into actionable insights that support business decisions, risk management, and strategic initiatives. The position combines data analysis, reporting, process improvement, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration within a financial services environment. You will monitor key performance indicators, identify emerging risks and trends, and provide recommendations that improve operational effectiveness and dealer performance. The role also contributes to system enhancements, automation, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives. It is well suited to an analytical professional who enjoys connecting data with practical business outcomes.
Accountabilities:
• Extract, validate, analyze, and manage origination, credit, funding, dealer, and portfolio data to support accurate reporting and operational decision-making.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance standardized and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and performance metrics that provide visibility into productivity, portfolio quality, operational effectiveness, and risk trends.
• Monitor application, contract, auto-approval, and dealer activity to identify anomalies, emerging risks, compliance concerns, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Analyze dealer, zone, and portfolio performance, including fraud indicators, first-year charge-offs, approval quality, and operational performance, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Prepare clear business insights, presentations, reports, and recommendations for management and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Credit, Funding, Collections, Risk, Compliance, Sales, Remarketing, Originations, Account Services, Process Management, and other internal teams to support reporting, investigations, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements.
• Support business process reviews, policy development, SOP maintenance, and Dealer Handbook updates to promote accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with compliance and business stakeholders to identify control gaps, support dealer audits, investigate operational concerns, and mitigate business risks.
• Lead or support business requirements documentation, user acceptance testing, and system enhancement initiatives that improve operational capabilities and reporting efficiency.
• Maintain data integrity through quality assurance reviews, governance standards, validation processes, and adherence to internal controls, including SOX requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, and process improvements that reduce manual work and improve scalability.
• Document reporting methodologies, business processes, data sources, and operational workflows to promote consistency, transparency, and knowledge transfer.
• Support departmental KPIs and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, third-party vendors, suppliers, partners, consultants, and industry contacts.
• Contribute to information sharing and relationship development across relevant industry and business networks.
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Analytics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Experience in automotive finance, financial services, analytics, risk management, credit operations, or a related field is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of consumer lending, dealer finance operations, compliance requirements, and portfolio risk analysis is an asset.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify meaningful trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to translate analytical findings into practical business recommendations and communicate insights effectively to management and stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of reporting, dashboarding, and data analysis tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create professional presentations, reports, business requirements, and procedural documentation.
• Experience developing and improving operational processes, controls, and documentation within a regulated financial services environment is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Strong collaboration and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships across multiple departments, business partners, vendors, and industry contacts.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, quality, governance, and compliance.
• Ability to support business objectives while exercising sound judgment, discretion, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Benefits:
• Annual salary range of CAD $72,921–$86,593, with individual compensation determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related factors.
• Hybrid flexibility with four days per week working on-site and the opportunity to work from home one day per week, subject to having a dedicated workspace at the assigned office.
