Data Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Analyst based in Ireland. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the fraud analytics side of a growing user segmentation system. You’ll analyze behavioral and fraud-related signals to distinguish legitimate users from suspicious activity. Your work will directly support product decisions, revenue-sharing models, and user verification strategies. You’ll collaborate closely with product, data, and analytics colleagues to turn insights into practical fraud controls. Because fraud patterns continuously evolve, you’ll regularly refine detection signals and monitor how effectively segments perform over time. You’ll also investigate ambiguous cases and identify opportunities to improve review processes and fraud prevention tools. The role is part of a fast-moving, international environment where analytical thinking and cross-functional collaboration have a direct impact. Accountabilities • Review and continuously refine fraud signals, adding, removing, and adjusting indicators to distinguish suspicious activity from legitimate users. • Analyze signals such as IP spoofing, VPN usage, unusual gameplay patterns, and other behavioral indicators to identify potential fraudulent activity. • Own the fraud-related components of the user segmentation system, including defining how signals should be interpreted and monitoring segment performance over time. • Partner with product and data teams to determine appropriate verification approaches for different markets, including facial verification, ID scanning, phone verification, and other methods. • Investigate users flagged for manual review, including ambiguous cases, and identify opportunities to make the review process more efficient and effective. • Identify gaps in available fraud signals and assess third-party tools or solutions that could strengthen the product roadmap. • Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations and operational fraud controls. Requirements • Hands-on experience using data to investigate fraud and influence fraud detection or prevention decisions. • Experience designing, refining, or evaluating fraud signals, user segmentation frameworks, detection rules, or review processes. • Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate complex or ambiguous user behavior using data. • Understanding of how fraud tactics evolve and an interest in continuously adapting detection approaches accordingly. • Ability to collaborate effectively with product, data, and other cross-functional teams to turn analysis into actionable solutions. • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a structured and detail-oriented approach to investigations. • Ability to communicate analytical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Professional working proficiency in English, with the ability to participate in meetings, work with documentation, and communicate clearly in a fast-paced international environment.
