Senior Engineering Intelligence Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineering Intelligence Analyst based in India. This role will serve as the technical engine behind an engineering intelligence function supporting data-driven decisions across a large technology portfolio. You will build and evolve analytics solutions that turn data from Jira, Jellyfish, Salesforce, and other systems into actionable engineering insights. The position combines analytics engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, and data visualization in a hands-on environment. You will develop automated pipelines, interactive dashboards, alerting systems, and analytical tools that help engineering leaders understand delivery, capacity, investment, and portfolio health. Your work will make complex engineering data more accessible through intuitive, self-service reporting and reliable analytical models. You will also contribute to executive-level analysis, reusable frameworks, and transparent documentation of data lineage and methodologies. The role offers broad exposure to engineering operations and close collaboration with service owners, delivery leaders, technical program teams, and product stakeholders. Accountabilities: • Dashboard Development & Maintenance: Build and maintain interactive Looker dashboards covering feature delivery predictions, FTE allocation, resource contention, and overall portfolio health. • Migrate existing HTML-based dashboards to an enterprise BI environment while preserving and improving their analytical depth and usability. • Design intuitive, self-service visualizations that enable engineering leaders to explore data and insights independently. • Implement alerting and anomaly detection to proactively identify risks such as feature slippage, resource over-allocation, and stale work items. • Data Engineering & Integration: Build and maintain data pipelines integrating Jira REST APIs and Structure exports, Jellyfish APIs, Salesforce, and other internal data sources. • Use Python and SQL to extract, transform, validate, and load data into a centralized analytics data store. • Implement automated data quality checks, validation processes, monitoring, and freshness controls to maintain reliable reporting. • Optimize queries and analytical data models to support fast, responsive dashboard performance. • Manage API authentication, rate limits, incremental synchronization, error handling, and other integration requirements. • Analysis & Insight Support: Support senior leadership with executive-ready analyses, reporting, and insight presentations. • Conduct ad-hoc analyses covering feature delivery trends, team capacity, engineering investment patterns, cycle times, and other operational drivers. • Develop reusable analytical templates and frameworks that can be refreshed with new data across reporting cycles. • Document data lineage, calculation methodologies, dashboard logic, and analytical processes to support transparency and auditability. • Collaborate with Engineering Service Owners, Engineering Operations, Delivery Managers, Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Product Operations. Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, or a related technical analytics role. • Strong SQL capabilities, including complex joins, window functions, CTEs, and query performance optimization. • Proficiency in Python for data processing, including tools such as pandas and requests and experience developing scheduled jobs. • Hands-on experience with Looker , including data modeling, dashboard development, and performance optimization. • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using REST API-based data sources. • Familiarity with Jira and a strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and engineering organization structures. • Strong data visualization skills, with the ability to create dashboards that communicate clear stories and actionable insights rather than simply displaying metrics. • Excellent attention to data quality, accuracy, documentation, and analytical consistency. • Preferred experience with Jira APIs, Jira Structure, and the broader Atlassian ecosystem at scale. • Familiarity with Jellyfish or comparable engineering management platforms is advantageous. • Experience extracting Salesforce data using SOQL or reports APIs is a plus. • Experience with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery is beneficial. • Exposure to engineering metrics such as DORA, velocity, cycle time, and throughput is preferred. • HTML and JavaScript skills for custom visualizations and rapid prototyping are an advantage. • Experience working in SaaS or enterprise software environments is desirable. • Strong analytical thinking, communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
