This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst - Workday Extend and Integrations Development based in United States.
This role is a hands-on technical position focused on developing and scaling Workday HCM and Payroll solutions within a complex global environment. You will design, build, and deploy custom Workday Extend applications and sophisticated integrations that support critical workforce processes. The position serves as a bridge between technical and functional teams, translating business requirements into scalable and reliable solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand institutional needs and deliver high-quality applications and integrations. The role offers significant technical ownership across Workday development, integration technologies, reporting, and application support. It is well suited to an experienced Workday professional who can work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams. The position follows a mostly remote hybrid model, with remote work more than 60% of the time.
Accountabilities
•
Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Workday Extend applications that address complex workforce and institutional business requirements.
•
Develop and maintain sophisticated Workday integrations using technologies such as Workday Studio, EIB, CoreConnect, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and XSLT.
•
Gather and analyze business requirements independently, translating functional needs into scalable technical solutions.
•
Collaborate with functional teams, stakeholders, and other technical professionals to ensure solutions align with business processes and technical standards.
•
Support the evolution and scalability of Workday HCM and Payroll ecosystems through reliable application development and integration practices.
•
Develop and maintain Workday reports and supporting technical components required for effective business operations.
•
Apply sound application development, administration, and support practices while troubleshooting issues and resolving technical challenges.
•
Work independently within an established scope, identifying risks and escalating issues appropriately when additional guidance or decisions are required.
•
Contribute to Agile development practices and continuous improvement of application development and support processes.
•
Use relevant tools and platforms, including Jira and ServiceNow, to support development tracking, issue management, and application support activities.
Requirements:
•
Hold a Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology; a Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
•
Have at least 3 years of professional experience developing Workday Extend applications.
•
Have at least 5 years of professional experience developing Workday integrations.
•
Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise with Workday Extend, Workday Studio, EIB, CoreConnect, and Workday Reporting.
•
Have solid experience with integration technologies and data formats, including REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and XSLT.
•
Possess a strong understanding of HR systems and related business processes.
•
Demonstrate the ability to work independently within defined parameters while recognizing when issues require escalation.
•
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•
Understand Agile software development principles and practices.
•
Bring familiarity with business processes and functional areas relevant to higher education environments.
•
Have experience with database technologies such as Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL, or MySQL.
•
Be familiar with tools and technologies supporting application development, administration, and application support, including Jira and ServiceNow.
•
Experience working in a higher education institution or complex global enterprise environment is preferred.
Benefits:

Annual base salary of $120,000 to $140,000 USD.
