This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tax Technology Senior Analyst based in India.
This role sits at the intersection of tax, finance technology, data, and automation, helping build scalable solutions for a growing global tax function. You will support the design, configuration, testing, and ongoing improvement of tax technology platforms and ERP systems. The position combines tax technology operations with automation, AI, data management, reporting, and digital compliance initiatives. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting, IT, Engineering, Product teams, and external technology vendors. A key focus will be improving data quality, streamlining tax processes, and supporting evolving e-invoicing and digital reporting requirements. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to technology modernization while developing expertise in emerging AI applications within tax compliance.
Accountabilities
• Support tax technology and systems by evaluating tools, contributing to system design, maintaining configurations, testing changes, troubleshooting issues, and supporting ongoing improvements.
• Identify opportunities for tax automation, AI adoption, and process optimization, translating business needs into clear requirements and supporting solution implementation.
• Manage and improve tax-related data quality, reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics to provide greater visibility and support informed decision-making.
• Maintain accurate tax technology documentation, process materials, system information, and supporting records.
• Support controls, governance, regulatory testing, issue management, remediation activities, and technology deployments associated with tax compliance requirements.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of technology supporting global digital tax reporting, e-invoicing, and real-time reporting mandates.
• Partner with Finance, Accounting, IT, Engineering, Product teams, and third-party vendors to resolve issues and deliver scalable tax technology solutions.
• Support system testing, configuration changes, implementations, and process automation initiatives across relevant platforms.
• Monitor emerging technologies and identify practical opportunities to use AI and automation to improve tax compliance workflows and operational efficiency.
Requirements
• 3+ years of experience in tax technology, finance technology, ERP administration, business systems analysis, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major ERP platform, such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or a comparable solution.
• Exposure to tax determination engines such as Vertex, Avalara, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of global e-invoicing, digital tax reporting, and the evolving technology requirements associated with regulatory compliance.
• Experience supporting system testing, configuration changes, implementations, troubleshooting, or process automation initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate system and data issues and develop practical solutions.
• Ability to work effectively with Finance, Accounting, IT, Engineering, Product, and external vendor stakeholders.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business and tax requirements into technology-focused solutions.
• Interest in the application of AI, automation, and emerging technologies to tax compliance and finance processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and contribute to continuous process and technology improvement.
