What does the India analyst job market look like in October 2026?

432 (36%) of India analyst openings are in Bengaluru. With Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and Chennai the five cities hold 75%: Bengaluru 432, Hyderabad 195, Pune 129, Mumbai 88, Chennai 46.

23 (2%) are fully remote, against 7% in the US.

606 (51%) of India analyst openings are at 140 companies that also have approved H-1B workers on record in the US, most of them global firms hiring for their Indian offices and capability centres. The most active: Amazon 135, Eaton 33, JPMorgan Chase 22, Capco 21, Brillio 19.

At entry level the share is higher: 122 of 185 entry-level roles, and Amazon alone has 57 of them.

Only 31 (3%) of India analyst postings state a salary. On the same day 45% of 2,848 US analyst postings did, largely because several US states require it.

Of India postings that list tools, SQL appears in 70%, Python in 49%, Power BI in 39% and Tableau in 34%. In the US, Tableau (36%) leads Power BI (24%). For India data analyst titles, Power BI is named in 51% and SQL in 82%.

Of 2,848 US analyst postings the same day, 1,748 (61%) are at companies that have hired H-1B workers before, but only 378 (13%) are entry level. The posted entry-level ranges have a median of $88,000 to $119,400.

• In India, apply to the global companies first: they post most of the roles, including most entry-level ones.
• Learn SQL first, then Power BI; for India roles Power BI is asked for more often than Tableau.
• Expect to ask about pay: almost no India posting states it, so check the range before the final round.
• Apply early: 33% of India roles were first seen in the last 7 days.

• US H-1B record: the company name is matched to the USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub. It shows the company has hired H-1B workers in the US, not that an India role leads to a US visa.
• Pay: a posting states pay when its listing carries a salary. Skill shares are of postings that list tools.
• Entry level is the level the employer states, or junior and graduate title words when none is stated. Remote means the location says remote.

• One day's snapshot of one board. Postings open and close daily.
• The board reads company career pages, so it covers global and larger Indian employers better than small firms that hire only through job portals.
• The H-1B match is by company name and is employer-wide; Indian subsidiaries with a different legal name may not match.
