The remote and entry-level rows cut across titles; the title-family rows do not overlap each other.
Most openings are at companies that have hired on H-1B before
1,758 (62%) of US analyst openings are at 404 of the 666 hiring companies, each with approved H-1B workers on record. Financial analyst titles lead at 77%, mostly at Amazon; data analyst titles are at 51%.
A record is employer-wide history, not a promise for a given role, and most postings say nothing about sponsorship either way.
Entry level is a small slice
Only 383 (14%) of US analyst openings are entry level. Their posted ranges are more often public (63%) and have a median of $85,450 to $115,400.
Pay, by title
1,265 (45%) of postings state pay; the median posted range is $106,000 to $150,000. Product analysts post the highest ($123,600 to $185,000), then data analysts ($98,800 to $149,900), business analysts ($98,000 to $140,000) and financial analysts ($92,050 to $130,000).
Remote is rare and pays more
217 (8%) of US analyst roles are fully remote. Their median posted range, $127,000 to $157,000, is above the US analyst median.
Skills and freshness
SQL appears in 71% of postings that list tools and Python in 48%. For data analyst titles: SQL 84%, Python 63%, Tableau 47%, Power BI 35%.
24% of roles were first seen in the last 7 days and 73% in the last 30; 6% have been up for more than 60 days. The cities with the most roles: San Francisco 132, Seattle 127, Chicago 92, Boston 84, Austin 63.
What it means for job seekers
- On a visa or OPT, start with employers that have hired H-1B workers before; they are most of the market, and the record is free to check.
- At entry level, apply early: only 14% of openings are entry level, and most roles are less than a month old.
- SQL is the one skill most postings share. Python and a BI tool widen the list.
- Use the posted range: nearly half of postings state one, and US pay transparency laws are why.
Method
- Sample: every live role with an analyst title (analyst, analytics, BI or insights) in the United States on realanalystjobs.com on 23 October 2026: 2,827 roles at 666 companies. Roles are read daily from employers' own career pages; closed roles drop off.
- Pay: medians of the posted minimums and maximums, from the 1,218 postings with a clean annual USD range. Nothing is estimated.
- H-1B: the company name is matched to the USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub; a company with approved H-1B workers in any fiscal year on record counts as a past H-1B employer.
- Entry level is the level the employer states, or junior and graduate title words when none is stated. Remote means the location says remote.
Limitations
- One day's snapshot of one board. Postings open and close daily.
- The H-1B record covers every occupation at the company, so it is history, not a promise for an analyst role.
- Pay medians cover only postings that state a range, which skews toward states with pay transparency laws.
- realanalystjobs.com reads company career pages; its coverage is large but it is not the whole US market.
