Which startups are hiring data analysts in the US, and how do you find them?

Posting to Indeed or LinkedIn costs money and buries a small team in applicants. A startup would rather post to its own careers page, share it on Wellfound or YC's Work at a Startup, and hire from that plus warm intros. Those roles are real and far less contested, but you only see them if you look where startups actually post.

In rough order of return on your time:

• Funded startups' own career pages, hosted on Greenhouse, Ashby or Lever. Apply directly there.
• Wellfound (formerly AngelList Talent): startup-native, US and remote heavy.
• Y Combinator's Work at a Startup: early-stage roles at YC companies.
• VC portfolio job boards, where a16z, Sequoia and others publish their portfolio companies' openings.
• A board that aggregates startup career pages so you are not checking dozens by hand. Real Analyst Jobs keeps analyst roles only and links to the source.

At a startup you will own more of the analytics stack, ship faster, and often get equity. But cash can be lower and the role less defined, and you will wear several hats. Before you commit, check the company's funding stage and runway, and read the salary range where the posting states one. The upside is real scope early in your career; the trade-off is stability.
